(QEF-PBL project)

The Centre for Information Technology in Education (CITE), Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong

Goal and objectives

This proposed project aims to promote the integration of students’ knowledge and skills across discipline areas through a new mode of teaching and learning, where teachers work collaboratively as a team and students take part in an inquiry project based learning (PBL), enhanced with Web 2.0 tools. The objectives include (1) to implement the collaborative inquiry PBL approach in four local schools with top, average and low academic performing students; (2) to conduct suitable training programmes for the teachers and provide adequate scaffolding support to equip them with the implementation of the new teaching and learning method; (3) to heighten students’ information and media literacy through an online learning environment; and (4) to describe the effects of the programme on the students and the development of the programme as experienced by the teachers.
